LVDS Around View Monitor

The 360° panoramic Around View system (also known as panoramic image or AVM, Around View Monitoring) is a driving assistance technology that achieves unobstructed visualization around the vehicle through the collaborative work of multiple cameras.
● Generate a virtual bird's-eye view of the top of the vehicle through the splicing of 4-6 wide-angle cameras (front, rear, left and right rearview mirrors) to eliminate blind spots.
● Support manual switching of front/rear/left/right single-side view, or diagonal wide-angle view.
● Display the expected parking path as the steering wheel turns, assist in reversing into the garage or side parking (combined with steering wheel angle sensor).
● Indicate the distance to surrounding obstacles through color (yellow/red) or sound (combined with ultrasonic radar).
● Display areas that traditional rearview mirrors cannot observe in narrow sections (such as alleys and parking lots).
● Display wheel tracks to assist in passing through width-limited piers or curbstones; zoom in the picture through the rear camera to assist in RV/trailer connection; users can drag the picture to focus on specific areas.

An Around View Monitor (AVM), also known as a 360-degree surround view system, is an advanced driver assistance technology designed to improve vehicle safety and parking convenience. By combining images from multiple wide-angle cameras mounted around the vehicle—typically at the front, rear, and both sides—the system generates a real-time, bird’s-eye view of the vehicle and its surroundings. This composite image is displayed on the in-car screen, giving the driver a clear and intuitive understanding of nearby obstacles.

The primary advantage of an around view monitor is enhanced situational awareness, especially in low-speed driving scenarios such as parking, reversing, or navigating narrow streets. Traditional mirrors and rear-view cameras often leave blind spots, whereas an AVM significantly reduces these blind zones, helping drivers avoid collisions with pedestrians, curbs, other vehicles, or low obstacles that are difficult to see.

Modern around view monitor systems use image stitching and calibration algorithms to ensure seamless integration of camera feeds. Some advanced versions also support dynamic guidelines, object detection, and warning alerts, further improving driving confidence. In addition, AVM systems are increasingly integrated with other driver assistance features such as parking assist and collision avoidance systems.

As vehicles continue to adopt smarter safety technologies, around view monitors have become a popular feature in both premium and mid-range models. By improving visibility, reducing parking stress, and enhancing overall driving safety, the around view monitor plays an important role in creating a more secure and user-friendly driving experience.
