AEBS systems will be mandatory!

In late April, the Ministry of Transport issued Amendment No. 1 to several industry standards, including "Safety specifications for commercial bus," "Safety specifications for commercial bus," "Safety specifications for commercial bus, Part 1: Trucks," "Safety specifications for commercial bus, Part 2: Tractors and Trailers," and "Safety technical specifications for commercial vehicle carrying dangerousgoods."

In late April, the Ministry of Transport issued Amendment No. 1 to several industry standards, including "Safety specifications for commercial bus," "Safety specifications for commercial bus," "Safety specifications for commercial bus, Part 1: Trucks," "Safety specifications for commercial bus, Part 2: Tractors and Trailers," and "Safety technical specifications for commercial vehicle carrying dangerousgoods."

According to the amendment, commercial bus should be equipped with Autonomous Emergency Braking System (AEBS) compliant with JT/T 1242 and Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) compliant with JT/T 883; trucks should be equipped with an Electronic Stability Control System (ESC), an Autonomous Emergency Braking System (AEBS), and lane departure warning function; tractors should be equipped with a signaling device for alarm when braking system fails (including trailer braking system failure); tractors and trailers should both be equipped with an Electronic Braking System (EBS); tractors should be equipped with Autonomous Emergency Braking System (AEBS); and semi-trailer tractors carrying dangerous goods and trucks carrying dangerous goods ≥3500kg in total should be equipped with an Electronic Stability Control System (ESC) and Autonomous Emergency Braking System (AEBS).
